100 Officials to Attend Basic Computers Training Course

Officials from 25 Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF)’s provincial line departments will be attending a basic computer training course from October 17 to November 11, 2016 at MEF’s Information Technology Department (ITD)’s training rooms.

H.E. Meas Soksensan, General Secretary of General Secretariat of MEF said to all participants in the opening session that the course would not only provide the officials with the knowledge needed to applied on daily works, but it also played a role in capacity building for our officials to suit with drastic changes of technologies.
The training course is separated into two divisions of 50 participants, providing two weeks for each division. Officials from ITD as instructors will be focus mainly on basic knowledge of internet and e-mail usage, computer maintenance, Windows operating system, and Microsoft offices.

Mrs. Chap Sovannara, Deputy Director of ITD who holds responsible for facilitating the training, said the officials attending this course will be equipped with practical knowledge which enables them to make most of the accessible technologies at their workplace. She added that another purpose of this training is to prepare the official to be at ease with the technology for the next phase of FMIS project implementation.

Despite having not participated in any direct raising awareness campaign about FMIS project, some line-department officials showed their interest in FMIS implementation in their units. FMIS Management Working Group (FMWG) will continue executing its strategic plan to ensure the implementation of FMIS happen in a sustainable and effective manner.
