FMIS Project Management Working Group Discussed on Phase II Plan
FMIS project management working group (FMWG) chaired by H.E Dr. Hean Sahib Secretariat of State of Ministry of Economy and Finance, opened for a discussion informing on the progress and to gain inputs from general departments and key stakeholders and to form new project management team members preparing for Phase II expansion to line-ministries, on 11th January, 2017 at Ministry of Economy and Finance.
Having seen project progress and drafted plan of Phase II, H.E Nhem Khemra, Director General of General Department of Budget (GDB), showed GDB’s determination in supporting the technical part by creating functional team working directly with IT Department and Line Ministries who will be using FMIS. He has also urged to have a depth study on operating procedure of line-ministries beforehand ensuring that the workflow will be smooth.
On the other hand, H.E Dr. Vong Bunintreavuth, Director General of General Department of National Treasury expressed his interest on the continuous strengthening of FMIS Phase I at capital-provincial treasury and general departments of the ministry maintaining success of the implementation during this transitional stage towards the next Phase.
With the occasion, H.E Dr. Hean Sahib stated on capacity building and choosing trainers whom can train or present on Public Finance Management Reform Program which includes Program Budgeting and FMIS at the ministry, assisting and solving any challenges on FMIS usage. FMWG will discuss in more depth on this matter before requesting for permission from H.E Dr. Aun Pornmuniroth, Minister of Economy and Finance.
